This wooden sculpture by Ursula Sax is a small limited edition from 2019 of the unique piece from 1988, which she had created while wood had been her major studio material. Once she read in a newspaper review that she was classified as a wood sculptor, she immediately stopped working with wood. The artist didn’t and yet doesn’t like to be labeled. This piece shows her unique talent to understand space and to think simultaneously in different directions. The appearance of this sculpture, which gets its physical stability, once it is leaning against a wall, changes depending from viewer point. Thus she has become a well known sculptor for public spaces, ea. public commissions. The original from 1988 is part of the collection of Berlinische Galerie – Museum für Moderne Kunst.
