Lorenz Friedrich | Kleine BetrachterInnen | 2017-2020

Der Künstler Lorenz Friedrich arbeitet primär mit Holz und Metall. Die Figuren dieses Werkes wurden aus Eiche geschnitzt und bemalt. Die Figuren spazieren, observieren und verweilen auf einer Plattform aus Metall welche ganz einfach an die Wand montiert werden kann oder wie abgebildet an einem Nylonfaden gehängt werden kann. Die Figuren reagieren erfrischend spielerisch auf ihre Umgebung. Friedrich’s Skulpturen werden als Miniatur Abbildungen von Menschen durch ihre Gestik und Posen zum Leben erweckt.

The artist Lorenz Friedrich works primarily in wood and metal. The figures in this work are sculpted from oak and painted. The figures walk, observe from and linger on a metal platform that can be easily hung on the wall or hung from nylon threads as shown in this images. The figures interact with their environment in a delightfully playful way. As miniature depictions of humans, Friedrich’s figures have come alive through their gestures and poses.
